Architectural Studies

"I feel a real affinity for Saint John and New Brunswick. I often convey this connection to place by painting existent architecture. The repeating forms and motifs of the built landscape allow me to explore the fascinating patterns of light, shade, tone, texture, reflection and colour while celebrating our rich architectural heritage.

In 1995, I collaborated with Dr. Gregg Finley to produce “On Earth As It Is In Heaven – Gothic Revival Churches of Victorian New Brunswick”, published by Goose Lane Editions. The book represented over five years of intensive research. The resulting artwork of 65 drawings and 58 paintings toured throughout New Brunswick."
